How much are you missing?
What opportunities never make it
into your consciousness?

Lost money...lost love...lost you?
Is your forehead stamped LOSER?

How would you like to see all and hear
all and then decide to act on it or toss it
away?

The admen on Madison Avenue want me dead because what I can
teach you kills all of their advertising strategies in 5-seconds.

Yes, a few thousand ad executives hope I contract an incurable disease
because they bank on the fact that you look but you do not see and you
listen but you do not hear. They know they can lead you like a horse to
water AND make you drink. And they are counting on your ability to be
easily influenced.

And that is just one group of people that manipulates you into doing things that maybe you shouldn't do or come to regret at a later date. But there is more to it...much more!

A good many other people in your life - family, friends, business contacts - attempt to manipulate you; sometimes so subtlety that you don't even recognize that they are doing it but the results are the same; you do what they want you to do.

Have you ever asked yourself why you do things you later come to regret?

Why is hindsight always 20/20?
Why do other people seem to see things that you miss? Lost opportunities? Lost love? The list is endless and let's face it; if opportunity gets past you it is most likely lost forever.

The fact of the matter is this: you look but you do not see; you listen but
you do not hear...EVERYTHING!

Let me give you an example. Recently a friend of mine sent me a photo of a dining room table for sale on eBay. It was just a photo of an ordinary dining room table. The caption he wrote underneath it read. "How do you know that this photo was taken by a man?" I burst out laughing because I spotted the reason immediately but then again I am a trained observer. I sent the photo to about a dozen of my friends and not one of them got it...it was right there in front of them but ALL of them missed what I had seen.

Okay I won't leave you in suspense. To the left of the table, in a small mirror hanging on the wall, is the man who took the photo; however he is buck naked....not wearing a stitch of clothing and it is all hanging out. Obviously I can't print the photo here but if you want a copy of it just email me with "Dining Room Table photo" in the subject line and I will see to it you get a copy.

Hear are the facts~

  • Our minds have been trained to filter out the majority of information we receive into our 5-senses.
  • These filters act within the subconscious mind; you receive info in your conscious mind and filter all of this sensory info from your subconscious mind.

  • These filters can be re-trained to filter from the conscious mind; hence all of the information is seen and heard and evaluated THEN you filter out what isn't wanted or needed.

  • Subconscious mind filters are involuntary; conscious mind filters are voluntary.

By retraining your mind you become a trained observer and NOTHING escapes notice. MY book The Power of Observation actually retrains your mind and in so doing allows you to experience a whole new life.

My friends constantly ask me how I can see things they simply don't see. My response is, "Oh you see exactly what I see; your eyes work the same way as mine; however what you see is labeled not worth remembering and is filtered out while my mine labels it worth retaining and evaluating THEN I choose to filter it out.

Recently I went to look at a commercial building with one of my employees. Over coffee afterwards, I began ticking off the pros and cons of the building and my employee sat there and admitted he did not see most of the things I was talking about. Why did I see them and he did not?

Simple! He saw exactly what I saw but my mind evaluated them in my conscious mind and chose each input to be important in my evaluation of the building. His mind involuntarily filtered them out as unimportant. He could not help himself; his subconscious mind involuntarily filtered the input out and he went away at a disadvantage. I saw the building was pre-wired for Internet; he did not. I saw that the phone system computer was installed but the phones were not (the computer is the major expense); he did not. I saw the date the air conditioning units were last serviced; he did not and the list was endless.

I'm a behavioral scientist and I study the mind. My studies bring me into various areas of human behavior but there is a common thread that ties all behavior together and that common thread is the how the conscious mind interacts or reacts with the subconscious mind. All behavior begins with a belief system. This belief system is mixed with thought. Thought relies on two things in the subconscious mind: intellect and what I call the desires, emotions and will of a person. Intellect involves empirical knowledge or factual information like what you learned in school and experiential knowledge or what you have learned from life's experiences - what most people call the school of hard knocks.

When your belief system interacts with thought it evokes action/behavior/conduct. This is why you do the things you do! You first believe in it then think about it and then you do it.

So where do our belief systems come from? How do we choose to think about them? And how we choose then causes all kinds of behavior? You will have to read my book for the answers.

Simply put: I teach you to become a trained observer - to see and hear everything...but...and this is a very BIG but...this also includes observing yourself and here lies the answer. My book is all about YOU! Once you understand YOU then your life will begin to change dramatically. You will learn how the mind is easily programmed and how others influence and manipulate you. It follows that if the mind can be programmed to do silly and stupid stuff, it can also be programmed to do beneficial and smart stuff. And it can!

"Too Late For Fruit; Too Soon For Flowers" Science tells us that all life comes from death. As strange as this might sound, a flower must die to give way to fruit. A grape must be crushed to give forth a satisfying wine; a sperm and an egg must die, individually, and become one, for a baby to be born. In non-secular thought, we call this communion - to become one with someone. However, there also exists its counterfeit... companionship - to be with someone. When two people come together in a relationship, and do not die to their own self-interests, then a companionship-type relationship begins. Lust is the result of companionship. Love, on the other hand, is sacrifice, and is the result of communion. Love grows; lust always has to be renewed. But, let's get back to my question for just a moment. The adage implies a sort of stagnation. If it is too late in the season for fruit, and too soon for springtime blossoms, then it is easy to see that the phrase may suggest being in a sort of limbo. And this is certainly one way to look at it. However, there is another interpretation, worthy of consideration too. The phrase can also imply that life is getting ready to be born again. In other words, restoration is at hand; another chance... another shot, at what you seek, is unfolding. [$19.95]

"There Is No Way To Love; Love Is The Way" In all my years of practice, the question I am often asked is "How do I learn to love? I don't know how to love." The fact of the matter is that this is the root cause of many of life's maladies. Life's problems can be traced back to a person's inability to love. Dr. Jay examines this problem and his book just may startle you as to why people cannot love. Let's face it; we have lust down to a science and many people today are content because lust does not bring the levels of responsibility that love requires. Commitment, security, faithfulness - all seem lost in today's world as generations become more and more accustom to the prevailing social mores that embrace lust. Back in the days of our parents the world didn't offer the options and alternatives that it offers now. Modern technology causes our lives to speed up faster and faster. We have educated ourselves into imbecility; we eat and drink to excess. We live in a society of entertainment and consumerism and Dr. Jay will demonstrate that consuming entities always lose. The answer to our current roster of problems is love. But even the word love has been misinterpreted and misunderstood to a point where it is almost meaningless. There is no way...no road that leads to love; love is the way and Dr. Jay will explain just what this statement means. Are you ready to change your life? Are you ready to love? We shall see! "HearNKnow.com Male/Female Realities" Love! What is it about this human condition that continues to draw us to one another? I can remember, when I was in puberty, almost the exact day I started liking girls, and it scared the living bananas out of me. Growing up, with a bunch of sisters, had made my view of females very skewed. In fact, I couldn't understand why I wanted to like them all of a sudden, instead of pounding them into the pavement, which I had been doing to my sisters, just to stay alive. My very first girlfriend was a girl named Regina Marshall, and to me, she was absolutely stunning. I spent my lunch money on her every day, and we would talk in school every chance we got. One day she asked me why I didn't hold her hand. Stupid ol' me, just said, "Why, is something wrong with your hand?" She laughed at me (she did this a lot), and said that when two people like each other they hold hands. Where do boys learn this stuff? Moreover, how come girls know about this stuff and we don't? I soon found out that girls have these "love huddles," where they gab at each other and share experiences. Boys gab too, but mostly about physical things like sports. I also discovered that these girlie "gab-fests" were an essential part of girlhood, and it was a big part of their psyches, to share experiences, and that this trait carries over into womanhood. "Men & Women...attack or attract" You can't live with them and you can't live without them! Is this really true? Dr. Jay examines the battles of the sexes and sets the record straight. How did this battle get started and just who are the victors? You will be amazed at his findings. I am reminded of the funny story about a boss at work that got little respect from his employees. One day after a very rough business meeting, the boss now totally fed up with the way his employees acted towards him, posted a sign on his office door as he left for lunch that read, "I AM THE BOSS! PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THIS VITAL FACT!" Upon his return there was a note posted on his office door, "YOUR WIFE CALLED AND SAID SHE WANTS HER SIGN BACK." Be sure to read this incredible book and discover what is missing in your relationships. It will leave you laughing and crying at the same time but it will also leave you with some important skill sets to improve your gender relationships. Men and women are meant to compliment one another instead of antagonize one another. You will be totally amazed at the root cause behind the antagonism. [$19.95]

"I Know I Am But Who Are You?" "If youth only knew; if age only could!" I often think about this adage. Is youth truly wasted on the young? Wisdom, which comes with age, is housed in bodies often betraying a person who attempts to pursue a meaningful life. Youthful bodies, which are full of vitality, lack the wisdom needed to employ rightful choices. There seems to be a severe paradox here. I would like to welcome you to an experience you will never forget. I remember, all too well, growing up and being "lectured"about making good choices. I would listen to the preaching, but I noticed, even at a young age, that parents never seemed to practice what they preached. This is a very human characteristic. In human behavior, we call it "cognitive dissonance." In plain English, this means that people hate it when their beliefs are inconsistent with their actions, or using the vernacular "You talk the talk but do not walk the walk." Secular psychology says that healthy individuals won't rest until they resolve that conflict by changing their thoughts, beliefs, or actions. At least we hope so, but unfortunately, this is almost never the case. [$19.95]

"Cartoon Psychology" In order to finance his college education Dr. Jay performed as a stand up comic. He loves humor and making people laugh creates a learning environment that is fun and enjoyable. Cartoons - sometimes without even knowing it - demonstrate some incredible psychology. He uses his book "Cartoon Psychology" in his seminars to demonstrate the various techniques cartoons use to convey messages to their readers. Anyone who uses any form of advertising to sell should have a copy of this book in their personal library. [$19.95]

"Gender Differences in Advertising" Male/Female realities and gender differences in advertising go hand in glove. The way to sell to a female buyer is quite different than selling to a male buyer. To learn the differences one must first understand the differences in how each gender employs their respective psyches. Learn these differences in Dr. Jay's compelling book "Gender Differences in Advertising".[$19.95]

"The Psychology of Sales" "Hunting is for fools that have never heard about bait!" Provocative, eh? But please allow me to ask you to apply this truism to a sales environment. Is it necessary to hunt for customers or is it easier to bait them and watch them come to you? I am not speaking about an illegal "bait and switch" tactic either. Baiting customers involves giving them more than they expect; proper incentives to buy and letting them make up their own minds. This is sales psychology! If you have a desire to learn this new and innovative technology, this is the book that figured it all out.[$19.95]

"Addictions" The word "addiction" is the word we use for bad habits and vices that have gone too far. The book "Addictions." In other words, a sexual addict who fantasizes about conquering women does not covet women, but covets the fantasy of conquering women. "Smokers are not addicted to nicotine, they are addicted to the thrill nicotine gives the brain." not only examines the causes behind why we do the things we do, but offers the corrective solutions to these problems too. "Addictions" will astound you; it exposes the myths of addiction. Dr Jay says, "Addiction is not being weary of suffering, but being weary of pleasure." He goes on to say that, "Most addicts covet the object of their temptation, BUT they covet the temptation more so than the object itself because the temptation is the idol of their fantasy. [$19.95]

"Teen Idols" The Teen Idol Program is a life resource for young people, dealing with making correct choices, avoiding the pitfalls and temptations of youth, dealing with teen issues, and male/female realities. This is not the type of seminar and guidebook you may think it is. Dr. Sherbondy is not about to point his finger, or rage accusations, about some of the poor choices young people are making today. It serves no purpose to tell young people that they are screwing up their lives. They already know when they are doing something wrong. When Dr. Sherbondy was a teenager, he remembers how he felt when he was, called on the carpet, to stand accountable for his behavior and actions. He was too young to know, back then, that he could not make good choices if no one taught him how to do it. It is human nature to go the other way, unless young people are taught, which way is the right way. We call these social skills, in psychology. In addition, we are all a product of certain belief systems and ideals, which are most often completely incompatible with the real world. In short, we are the sum total of our experiences. Today, young people are easily influenced by: television, peer pressure at school, and identity issues, for example. To be blunt, this seminar and guidebook is all about, young people; how to survive past their education of empirical knowledge. [$19.95]

"Stealing You" Stealing You is all about identity theft. If you are a victim of identity theft or want to protect yourself, this book will assist you with its vast list of resources. Don't let the identity thieves Steal You!
